PixFiler

If you are a photographer or just passionate about taking photos, then probably your hard disk is filled up with various image files. Having so many image files can be a problem in case you want to find or view a certain photo. You could use the Windows search tool, but if your photos have random names given to them by the digital camera, then this feature is useless. You would have to browse through all the photos in order to find a desired one. But all this changes when installing the PixFiler application.

This simple Windows program can scan all the photos from a certain folder and can organize them efficiently, so that you will be able to find a certain image in the shortest time possible. The program is compatible with any Windows version and it's very easy to install and use.

After installing and running the program, the user will be asked to create a new photo index file and to select the desired folder that contains photos. The program can also handle the images located in sub-folders without any problems. After scanning the desired image folder, PixFiler will list all the found images as thumbnails into the interface, together with their name and date. Clicking on any of the available thumbnails will display a much larger version of the image.

This will allow the user to quickly find a desired image, just by looking at its thumbnail. There is also an advanced search tool available, which allows you to look for images using various criteria. Besides organizing and displaying photos, PixFiler also allows you to share them using various methods. These methods include creating photo webpages, photo CD/DVD discs or sending them through email. There is also a crop and resize tool available, for bypassing the limitations imposed by most email providers in terms of file size.
